                                                An Active Healthy Leitrim for All

Leitrim Sports Partnership is all about providing fun and exciting opportunities for young people to dive into sports and physical activities. We offer loads of information, program implementation, and education to make sure everyone can get involved. Our awesome programs, events, and initiatives are created with local and national sporting bodies and organizations, and schools play a crucial role in helping kids get active.

According to the National Physical Activity Guidelines, kids aged 2-18 should aim for at least 60 minutes of activity every day. While many kids are on the move, they might not hit the levels needed to enjoy benefits like a healthy heart, ideal weight, and balanced blood pressure. Staying active also boosts emotional, social, and cognitive development, making it a win-win!

The National Sports Policy 2018-2027 highlights cycling, swimming, and running as top sports for their long-term benefits and sustainability. Schools can help kids get involved by dedicating time to an engaging PE schedule and participating in initiatives offered by Leitrim Sports Partnership.

We team up with a variety of partners across different settings to ensure every young person has the chance to get active and improve their overall health. So, let's get moving and have a blast while doing it!
